Terre De Caillotte, Coteaux du Giennois Blanc, Domaine Berthier 2020/1*

Taken from a single vineyard with limestone soil (Caillotte), the wine is lean, mineral and bony. A racy palate with good acidity, crisp citrus and a cleansing chalky finish.
Why we love this:
The wine speaks intimately of the vineyard. It is full of energy and poise and makes a great alternative to Sancerre.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER
The domaine was created in the 1980s in Sancerre before it expanded with the acquisition of Domaine de Montbenoit in the Coteaux du Giennois. After travelling the world, the next generation has now returned to the family’s terroirs.
Clément, who has worked as a cellar master in the USA, is now responsible for vinification and sales at the domaine. Florian, building on his experience gained in Burgundy and New Zealand, is now in charge of the work in the vineyards.
