Chateau London Domaine Normand Macon Ige is one of the first localities used in the Mâconnais in the early 1970s. A place whose explanation of the name come from Paris and not London. The owner of these vines lived in Rue Landon in Paris in the 10th arrondissement not far from the St Martin canal. It is easy to imagine that Landon was transformed into London for the benefit of a transcription error….

Beautiful looking with a bright, young, golden yellow colour. The nose is complex with aromas of white flesh fruits mixed with notes of floral scents.
The mouth is round and mineral.

THE REGION

Burgundy is one of France’s main wine-producing areas. It is well known for both its red and white wines, mostly made from Pinot noir and Chardonnay grapes, respectively, although other grape varieties can be found, including GamayAligotePinot blanc, and Sauvignon blanc. The region is divided into the Côte-d’Or, where the most expensive and prized Burgundies are found, and BeaujolaisChablis, the Côte Chalonnaise and Mâcon. The reputation and quality of the top wines, together with the fact that they are often produced in small quantities, has led to high demand and high prices, with some Burgundies ranking among the most expensive wines in the world.[14]

ABOUT THE PRODUCER

The 35 hectares vineyards are now spread over several areas within the region of Macon that includes Solutré,Chaintré,Prissé,Igé and La roche Vineuse. The company shares and respects local traditions with the production of natural quality wines. The vineyard insisted on avoiding any changes within the land and adapted to the territory to make the wine as fruitful as possible. The company recently expanded with a new tasting site which opened this year. The idea is to put together all winemaking processes in one single place. To combine the traditional, root of our Burgundy region with modernity.
