Chatus ‘Monnaie d’Or’ 2020
£25.99
Chatus is the oldest grape variety in Ardèche, grown and quoted by Olivier de Serres, father of modern agronomy, in 1599. In the 19th century, Chatus was the main grape variety cultivated on the light sandstone soils of the Cevennes Mountains.
Monnaie d’Or is the result of the craft of a handful of winegrowers proudly committed in maintaining the heritage of the Ardeche viticulture.
The Chatus Monnaie d’Or cuvée owes its name to the Latin origin of the word Chatus which formerly designated «a small gold coin».
