The Vineyards around Ch Grand Bert have been in the family since 1900, and the mantle has passed to each generation to tend the vines and make the best wine possible.
Planted to Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the wine is deliberately kept unoaked during its aging to better express the vineyard. We were impressed by the freshness of this wine, the hallmark of truly great claret. Equally there is plenty of generosity from the Merlot and complex spices on the finish.
