Renato Ratti Battgilone Barrbera d’Alba is a very intense and bright cardinal red. A forceful fragrance with scents of ripe and dried plums against a spiced background. Full flavored and of long persistence.
Its typical acidity and delicate structure bestow elegance and harmony to this wine. It is a fine match with the rustic local cuisine as well as refined dishes of meat and ripe cheeses.
Discovered and rediscovered, Barbera d’Alba DOC Battaglione has wonderful harmony as its most authentic quality. Perfect next to the local cuisine classics. Full in body and color, warm and robust, pleasantly pungent in its younger years, it is a wine well-suited to fairly long aging. The characteristic land of La Morra endows it with good acidity together with great elegance.
Grapes handpicked in the month of September, de-stemmed and pressed. The alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature controlled stainless steel containers. Contact with the skins lasts approximately two weeks and the malolactic fermentation takes place in steel containers.
The historical “soldier” label was created by Renato Ratti to recall the heroism of the Piedmontese regiments in the XVIII Century.
